It has numerous medieval towns (Puy L`Eveque, Montcuq, Prayssac, Cahors etc.) which are worth a visit. Lots of weekly markets and in summer months numerous ‘repas-gourmandes’ and ‘fêtes’ in the immediate area which will ensure you enjoy the French way of life. The well-known Cahors wines can be sampled and bought at the many chateaux in the area. The river Lot is one of the most beautiful in France and you can take river tours or rent your own boat and do some fishing. Your daily shopping can be done in Puy L’Evèque only 7 minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants nearby but your host can also cook you a delicious meal!
There are many possibilities for outings such a Sarlat (90min) the most beautiful town in the Périgord or Rocamadour (90min). Closer to the house is Les Arques (20 min) where you can visit the museum of the famous sculptor Zadkin. A must is Saint Cirq Lapopie (60min), one of France’s most beautiful villages easily to combine with a visit to the prehistorical cave ” Pech Merle” with authentic cave drawings.
